The thoughts of an Athlete!
By Jo Jo Wyman
April 21, 2005

Jo Jo Wyman has joined forces with WBAN and will have a "corner" on WBAN to talk about many topics concerning the sport!

(APR 21) After a reluctant retirement letter, and that word "retirement" always haunts you. The thoughts of coming out of retirement continue to linger. As you continue to monitor your sport, and always sizing up your competition. And because you know your past mistakes of training and fighting. You think you know your way back to a better, faster, stronger, smarter fighter, And just when you are ready to implement your new plan..... The Lord shows you more of his plan. Which is why I retired.

I truly believe the Lord's plan is for me to help the current and up coming boxers---not hurt them. I am highly educated in plyometric, sport specific weight training. In-fact,  I started doing it the last year of my career in 2003 and that is when I finally beat and dropped
Kelsey Jeffries  And Laura Serrano.

But by the time I got to Isra Girgrah, I was over trained. I know the limits and I know the female body. Which by the way is very different from the male body. We can do everything they can and I believe even better. We just need to train smarter with a little more TLC.

Although I do miss it severely, I will continue to train because there is nothing like it. Best of luck to you all and I look forward to working with you. God Bless "JOJO" Wyman
