confirmed with the WBC that Jackie Nava of Mexico, will be
defending her WBC World Super Bantamweight title against Susana
Vázquez, also of Mexico, on October 17th, in the Auditorio Municipal
de Tijuana, Mexico. WBAN is
slightly puzzled about this match....WBAN has an unverified record of
1-0 for Vazquez---which is also what BoxRec.com has as a record for her.
WBAN has Nava ranked #9 in the bantamweight division.
The WBC has Vazquez ranked #13 as a
Bantamweight (not super bantamweight). Vazquez is not only
ranked low with the WBC, but she is not even ranked in same weight class
as Nava. (
Nava is the WBC super-bantamweight
champion, with the following women ranked with the WBC in the top ten in
her weight class.
This included the following: Marcela Acuna, Esther Shouten, Silke
Weickenmeier, Terri Cruz, Audrey Vela, Jeri Sitzes, Jayla Ortiz, Leona
Brown, and Leilani Salazar....So the question is.....Why Vazquez? |
