(FEB 4) Please Vegas...check your morgues, check your graveyards---we think you may be missing a body.

Not trying to be facetious, but sometimes in order to keep one's perspective--one has only "humor" at times--to fall back on, especially when we see what goes on in this sport.   I know I have been "laughing" a lot since 2005.

I have said it before--AND I will say it again:
ALL OF YOU---can do better in this sport!  BOXERS---fight better opponents;  MANAGERS; do not disgrace women by this lame excuse for women's boxing; TRAINERS, take some level of responsibility of the danger you place your fighter in; PROMOTERS,  get people who have your interests at heart when making matches for your cards---this is obviously an example of someone who has very little matchmaking skills, and/or who is profiting by making a lame match for monetary reasons;  and lastly,  COMMISSIONERS, stop this insanity of mismatches and the safety concerns of the boxers who are not well-matched..

Butch Gottlieb of BoxingInLasvegas.com, who was at the fight last night,  gave his perspective of the fight between Monica Lovato and Tiffany Wilson.

He wrote the following: "Monica Lovato (5-1 3KOs) Zamora's teammate from Santa Fe, NM was put in a lose-lose situation as she had not fought in 8 months and was put in against Tiffany Wilson (0-1-1) from Moore, OK. This fight was a joke as Wilson had NO BUSINESS in the ring with Lovato who is a very good sound, strong boxer. Wilson came into this fight with a 0-0-1 record and in her only previous fight 7 months ago, had a draw against a girl who was 0-8. The fight ended in 53 seconds as Monica caught Wilson with a 3 punch combination and she hit the canvas so hard that the referee did not even bother to count. It is matchups like this one that demeans women's boxing and has too many fans thinking that this is the way that women's boxing is. If they believe that then they should watch a Rock & Sock Productions all woman's show to see what REAL women's boxing is all about.  Monica is a much better fighter than was shown tonight and she should be in the ring with opponents of equal ability. Kudos go out to the trainer of Lovato and Zamora, Al Lovato (no relation) for keeping his fighters in great shape and keeping their edge in spite of the long layoff for both of them."
