WIBA is pleased to announce the
formation of 5 regional entities, which will serve as WIBA's local
branches around the globe:
WABA - Womens Asian Boxing Association
WABA will serve as WIBA's Asian branch,
Toshihiro Yamaki will be the head chairman of the WABA.
WCBA - Womens Caribbean Boxing Association WCBA will serve as WIBA's
Caribbean branch. Molly Boxhill will be the head chairman of the
WCBA.
WEBA - Womens European Boxing Association
WEBA will serve as WIBA's European Branch.
Tex Woodward will be the head chairman of the WEBA. Woodward has
also been named WIBA's Coaching Advisor.
FEDELATINA - Federation of Latin Female Boxing FEDELATINA will serve
as WIBA's Latin American branch. Valentin Contreras is the head
chairman of FEDELATINA. FEDELATINA already has 2 champions, with
Cindy Serrano as its featherweight champion, and Dahianna Santana is
its bantamweight champion.
WIBA is also forming an African Branch.
These regional entities are important, for opening up the sport of
women's boxing in many third world countries, deepening the overall
talent pool, and helping the sport continue to grow and evolve
by bringing the nations of each region together in sport.
These newly created entities will help distinguish the dominant
fighters in each region, and give these dominant fighters the
recognision and opportunity that they deserve thru their talent and
hard work. these regional titles will give women from all over the
world the shot to earn their ratings and work their way up the
boxing latter.
WABA, WCBA, WEBA, and FEDELATINA are sanctioning title fights for no
sanction fee, the only extra costs of these title fights are for the
belt itself, and the travel/lodging arrangements for the title fight
supervisor.
