Behind The Scenes - Part I
December 18, 2006

(DEC 18) WBAN has added Video Streaming of tidbits and raw footage of short video clips of some of the past interviews, etc. that have been covered for WBAN. In Part 1, the following video streaming has been added!

Behind the Scenes #26:
An excerpt of the MAN vs. WOMAN bout (After the bout took place), featuring Loi Chow and Margaret McGregor. The event occurred on October 9, 1999, Seattle, Washington. This post-fight conference took place outside of the arena.  Fox stood on a chair (shaky) to try to shoot some footage of the two.  The media came from all over the world, with a lot of hype around this fight.

Behind the Scenes #27:
The date of the event was on November 16, 2001....Fox Flew to Austin, Texas, and covered the first "Texas Shootout I" that was an all women's card. It was televised on Fox Sports Net (three of the fights.)  This clip is an excerpt of the now inactive, Fredia "The Cheetah" Gibbs.  Gibbs, an exciting and entertaining boxer, fought Sumya Anani. Unfortunately the turnout was very poor, which was probably due to Austin, Texas, having a tornado the night before and having flash floods.  During the weigh-in, the television crew, the fighters and everyone else at the weigh-in were evacuated to the lowest level of the hotel. The electricity was off for several hours. We were told that we were in the eye of the storm.

Behind the Scenes #28:
The weigh-in that was held on November 15, 2001 - Austin, Texas....In this excerpt video clip, you can see all the many fighters who were on this card.  Many of them are now retired or inactive.  Present on the video were: Trina Ortegon:  Ortegon is now a boxing commissioner in New Mexico and no longer boxes; Kelly Whaley:  In the video she, along with her manager were talking to Linda Robinson about her book that was released;  Linda Robinson, now retired from boxing;  in the background, Mary Elizabeth Ortega, Valerie Mahfood, Jessica Mohs, Chevelle Hallback, all active; and Ada Velez, now retired.

Behind the Scenes #29:
Fox interviewed Ann Wolfe on NOVEMBER 7, 2002, at the weigh-in of the Laila Ali vs. Valerie Mahfood fight that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Wolfe talks about fighting Ali in this archived interview---FOUR YEARS LATER---Ali and Wolfe still have not fought.
