(FEB 4) WBAN has received a statement
from Wanda Bruce, the manager of Laura Ramsey, and she stated the
following:
"All the reports of Laila Ali possibly
making her 56 second fight with Gwendolyn O'Neill her last
bout is a little premature, and that fight was ridiculous. Laila has
not fought everyone that's willing to face her. Laura Ramsey has
stepped up to the plate twice to fight Laila, only to be denied.
Laura dealt with all the delays Laila’s people dished out- but they
never came through with the offers they dangled in front of us, with
contracts, revised contracts, signed contracts, then a request to be
on STAND BY in South Africa for the February 3 fight. Refusing to be
inactive while Laila's team was busy seeking less worthy opponents,
Laura has remained busy, knocking out Ijeoma Egbunine AND Conjestina
Achieng, letting her actions speak for themselves. She is always
ready for the next fight. Anyone who accepts Laila's claims that no
one is willing to step up and fight her, they are sadly mistaken.
She is dancing around Laura Ramsey with a lot of talk. For once
Laila-let your actions speak louder than your words. Fight Laura
Ramsey in three months and honor the contract we had two months ago.
Then you can say you've had a good fight with an honorable opponent.
Laura fought twice in 2006 and twice already this year. She is
ranked # 3 in the world as a super middleweight. She and Laila have
three opponents in common. So fight the fighter that’s ready and
willing. Quit playing. After that, you can get married and have your
babies. Laura has done that already and is ready to meet you, in the
ring. Be the woman you are and take challenge."

latest Ali-ONeil rematch, if so, email
