Ortiz pulls out of fight with Sitzes
March 13, 2007

(MAR 13) WBAN has received a press release today from Rizing Starz, LLC, of Poplar Bluff, MO, stating the following:  "We have unfortunately received word that Jayla Ortiz has withdrawn from the scheduled title fight with Jeri "Fist of Fury" Sitzes scheduled for this Friday at Florentine Gardens in El Monte, California. Jayla's people have stated that she is currently suffering a concussion and can not fight. We are working on verifying that the medical has been filed with the commission. Team Sitzes is so disappointed, this would have been a good match. Jeri is ready to step in the ring, we just need to find someone willing to step in with her!"

On March 9th, this was originally reported on Inside Women's Boxing (Chris Cozzone), and it was stated at that time, that Jayla Ortiz had pulled out (Mar 9th), due to an injury, and that Ortiz was taken to an emergency room in Santa Fe the night before, and was released in the morning, upon verification that Ortiz had suffered a concussion.
