Gorges Wins Third Time, Dunn Wins First Ringside Belt
By Margaret Canty
August 5, 2007

Border City Boxing Club's "Gorgeous" Andre Gorges won his third consecutive Welterweight Championship Belt at the Ringside World Championships in Kansas City on Saturday evening.   Gorges won his third bout of the tournament on
Saturday over Michigan's Willie Price. Also representing Border City was Canadian Champion Katie "Silence" Dunn, who won her first Ringside Championship, also winning three bouts.

Dunn was supposed to be representing Canada in Hungary but traveled to Kansas City on short notice when her
category in Hungary was filled before Boxing Canada
entered her. Fortunately, Dunn faced both the American Champion in the semifinals and the U.S.

B-Team Boxer, Krysta Rettic of Oklahoma, in Saturday's
final en route to the Championship. Also representing
Border City in Kansas City were Canadian Champion
"Jackknife" Josh Cameron, who went 1-1, and Provincial
Champion Shelby "Lionheart" Bialkowski, who lost to
Hawaii's Alyssa Kane in the final.
