Chamblin to fight Biggers-headlining card
Source: Press Release
August 9, 2007

“The Fighting Marine”, Kasha Chamblin, 9-1-0 (5KO) will be headlining the Collision at the Coliseum / USA vs. Croatia on Saturday, August 25 at Blackham Coliseum. Chamblin is ready for the collision where she will takes on Donna “Nature Girl” Biggers, 19-5-0 (16KO), of Shelby, North Carolina.

The boxing portion of the card will also feature Lafayette’s world class and former USA and NABF champion, Jason Papillion. Papillion (38-12-1 with 25 KOs) is scheduled to box Jeremy Yelton (17-10 with 10KOs). Papillion will be boxing at 147lbs. to prove to the public, and to “Bad” Chad Broussard that he can make 147lbs.

“This will be an opportunity to make a statement to my fans and all the boxing fans of Louisiana. Chad said that I shouldn’t be calling him out for a fight. Who does he think he is? Is he more important than John L. Sullivan who was called out by James J. Corbett or Sonny Liston who was called out by then Cassius Clay, now Muhammad Ali, or Marvin Hagler who was called out by Sugar Ray Leonard or Oscar de la Hoya who was called out by Floyd Mayweather?

This is a calling out business and I am calling out “Bad” Chad Broussard. Chad is a recognized Louisiana Junior Middleweight Champion (154lbs.), but yet he demands that I box at 147lbs. Well, I will box at 147lbs. and then he will have no excuses not to box me,” says a very confident Jason Papillion.

Damir Tovarovic, the “Croatian Sensation”, will be making his pro debut at the Collision at the Coliseum / USA vs. Croatia. Tavorovic is 6 ft. 3 in., 230lbs. and is also the former European Super Heavyweight Champion. He will be making his pro debut in Lafayette. The “Croatian Sensation” scored over 70KOs in a 93 bout amateur career and expects to light up the rugged Dunzell Atkins of Monroe, LA. “I am called the ‘Croatian Sensation’ because I create excitement when I knock out my opponents. I will knock out Atkins as quickly as possible and make a sensation in the USA. I feel I can beat any heavyweight in the world and Lafayette, USA is a great place to start my career,” said a cocky Tavarovic.

The card will also feature kickboxing, mixed martial arts and the second professional fight for Kenward “Boo” Bernice of Port Barre, LA. “Boo” of the reality TV Survivor series will enter the ring with a record of 1-0 against the “Beast from the East”, Verdan Badun of Croatia. There will also be 9 other mixed martial art and kickboxing bouts.

Former #1 pound for pound boxer Roy Jones, Jr. will be in attendance assisting Jason Papillion and UFC star Spencer “The King” Fisher of Miletech Fighting Systems, home of 5 UFC champions. Fisher will be assisting “Boo” with his MMA bout with the “Beast from the East.”
