Camp Notes: Kay "Wild Wild" West
March 27, 2008

(MAR 27) Moreno Valley, CA — Just days away from fighting for her first time in Mexico, undefeated bantamweight prospect Kaliesha “Wild Wild” West is preparing her self mentally after a physical training camp in preparation for her bout with Mexican native Ceniz Meraz. West has been in camp for 8 weeks training diligently with her father and trainer Juan West.

Speaking over the phone from West’s training camp in Moreno Valley, Juan said,”Kay’s been training hard to make a statement…an exclamation point, to say that she’s here to clear out the bantamweight division and that starts with Ceniz. She’s looking forward to Mexico to show the fans that she is in fact a Latina warrior!”

Kay also expressed the following thoughts on her bout this weekend, “I can’t wait to go to Mexico for this fight. I hope she’s ready to put on a show because I am. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time and Momma said knock her out, so I’m going to!”

West looks forward to extending her fight streak on Saturday to 8 straight wins and continue to build on her #9 WBC ranking.

Tickets for “Duelo De Los Aztecas” are available through Cota Boxing Promotions and can be purchased by calling 818-612-9296 or in person at the "Gymnasio Tigre Garcia" box office. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Source: Press Release
