6th Annual Ringside - Comcast National Jr. Boxing Championships

(MAY 5) The Augusta Recreation and Parks Department would like to announce that Augusta has been awarded the 6th annual Ringside/Comcast National Jr. Boxing Championships (boys and girls) at the May Park Community Center, 622 4th Street, Augusta, Georgia. June 26,27,28, 2008.

Champion youth boxers (boys and girls) from the entire US ,ages 9-16,boys and girls, compete for the National Jr. Championship.

This will mark the 6th consecutive year the event has been held in Augusta. The event has brought in over $75,000 in economic impact to Augusta each of the last 5 years.

"Augusta and Tom Beck of the Augusta Recreation and Parks Dept.,  has shown its ability to host world class boxing tournaments and we at Ringside Inc are pleased to once again co-sponsor these National Jr Championships "...states John Brown ,President /CEO of Ringside Inc ,Lenexa Kansas.

Tom Beck, Director of the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department stated "We at the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department are very excited about hosting these future Olympians. This tournament is another example of our continued commitment to our youth".

Headquarters hotel for the event is the Clarion Suites.

Title sponsor for the event is COMCAST Cable Company of Augusta. Additional sponsors are PCS Nitrogen, Sports Medicine Associates of Augusta, Pollock Company, Georgia Chiropractic and Wellness Center and Ringside Inc.
