Martin Issues Press Statement
by Danny Coyne
October 11, 2008

(OCT 11) With reference to the article currently published on WBAN [www.womenboxing.com] regarding Shanee Martin, I have been asked to issue a press statement on behalf of my client.

With reference to Ms. Martin's last opponent my client has nothing more to add, she made an official statement via Boxing News. The promoter that night made the necessary compliance checks regarding the identity of the opponent, if there are irregularities, then this is obviously a matter for the Authorities.

For the record, Shanee has NOT refused to fight Juliette Winter for The vacant English flyweight title, but has instead opted to fight on December the 6th at The York Hall London against a higher ranked opponent in the form of Nadia Hockmi of France, which Ms. Martin feels will increase her ranking with the world governing bodies.

Ms. Martin would also like to point out that in early 2009, she would be delighted to fight Ms. Winter for the vacant English title.

Thank you.

Danny Coyne
PR Officer on behalf of Shanee Martin.
