March 8, 2009

(MAR 8) Last night Lisa "Bad News" Brown was extremely successful in her homecoming to Trinidad and Tobago, stopping Maribel Santana of the Dominican Republic at 1:39 of the 3rd round.  Lisa wobbled Santana with a shot to the head, followed with a body punch, and Santana (winded) turned her back on Lisa and walked away from her, forcing the ref to stop the contest. With the TKO victory, Lisa Brown adds the WIBA Super Bantamweight Title to go along with her IFBA strap, and moves to 16-3-3, with 5KO's to her credit. Santana drops to 10-7-1.

Ria Ramnarine of Trinidad and Tobago was also successful in front of the hometown fans, stopping Nancy Bonilla from Puerto Rico at 0:20 seconds into the 8th round. Ramnarine improves to 11-5, 2KO's. Bonilla's record is now 3-6..

Lorissa Rivas who fights out of Las Vegas, with  Mayweather in her corner, scored a victory by DQ, 45 seconds into the 3rd round. Leslie Lubaczewski's corner entered the ring after throwing in the towel, and as a result Leslie was disqualified. Rivas now stands at 2-1, 1Ko, while Lubaczewski of West Virginia slips to 0-4.

Wendy Allen also from Trinidad and Tobago was successful in her professional debut as she defeated Carolina Martinez of the Dominican Republic by way of TKO at 1:34 of the 3rd round. Martinez record slides to 3-8.

Tiana Sosa-Saney rounds out the perfect night for the female contingency from Trinidad and Tobago, as she stopped Anne Howard of Guyana at 1:18 of the 1st round. Sosa-Saney improves to 2-0, 1KO with the win, while Howard falls to 0-5..

Official results reported by Richard Lewis of Royal T Promotions and Productions at ringside.
