Brown FINALLY Gets Paid
Source: Press Release
September 10, 2009

(SEPT 10) WBAN received a press release earlier yesterday in regards to Lisa "Bad News" Brown finally getting paid for a title bout that she had in Trinidad.  They stated the following:

From "The Canadian Fight Lawyer"-Michael Schmidts Cloverlay Management Corporation, the managers for Lisa "Bad News" Brown are pleased to announce that Lisa "Bad News" Brown's outstanding purse from her title defence in Trinidad has now been paid in full. Schmidt commented as follows: "It has been a long time coming. March to be exact. After protracted discussions I am pleased that Lisa has now been paid fully.

Full credit must be given to Mr. Brian Lewis, the chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Board for his continuous efforts in acting as an intermediary to problems we had with the promoter. Neither the board nor Mr. Lewis had any obligation to this matter or any obligation to be involved but their effort really made a difference. Mr. Lewis's efforts in keeping the lines of communication open and in helping to resolve the matter were exceptional and I do not use that word lightly.

Boxing is a tough business and when you come across someone with honesty, integrity and the drive Mr. Lewis had to bring this matter to a conclusion, well, that is just exceptional.

Having gotten this matter out of the way I can tell you that Lisa would like nothing better than to come down to "her Islands" once again in the future to defend her multiple titles. The first order of business is moving up in weight and challenging in South Korea on October 15 for the IFBA World Featherweight Championship.

Yours very truly,

Michael J. Schmidt
Barrister & Solicitor
