A fair decision
by Ron Brand
October 18, 2009

(OCT 18)  In February of 2009, Hollie Dunaway fought Ji Hyun Park for the IFBA strawweight world title. Venue was
the 1988 Seoul Olympic Stadium in Seoul South Korea.

We feel that night Dunaway dominated and won the fight, although the scorecards went in favor of Park. The fight is scheduled to be televised in the USA but haven't been aired at this time, but we know it will be at some point. The fight was televised live on an ESPN affiliate in Korea.

Roy Jones Jr, dominated the Olympic boxing in the same arena in 1988, only thing is his gold metal bout was recorded as one of the worst robberies in boxing history.

Dunaway and Park fought for the IFBA strawweight title. In our opinion Hollie clearly won the fight.  We will file a protest with the IFBA at this point.  I've seen two sets of scorecards posted on Boxrec  and still not sure of the official cards that night.

Upon arrival at the Olympic venue we were taken to an empty room with only chairs. The room was bone cold with no heat. We complained loudly to the promoter, but were told there wasn't any heat. I went to watch Park being wrapped and two large heaters filled the room with heat. We used survival techniques to get Hollie warmed up, it was that cold. Clean water wasn't to be found. We were prepared though with our own.

We complained to the IFBA about the officials, at the time it was suggested that we bring Ji Hyun to the USA to fight. I would welcome her team to the USA anytime. All we want is for the judges and Korean commission to provide a fair decision on our fight.
