(JAN 3) Patricia "boom boom" Alcivar (1-0) is starting her new year off with a "boom"! Already her year begins with a brand new award presented to her for her achievements in life and in boxing as she is honored as Woman of the Year 2009, Presented by "She Takes on the World". Also on January 16thg, Patricia fights South Carolina's Latoya Tomlin in a four round under-card bout bout in Macon, Georgia on the M.L.K. Champions Classic boxing show presented by the Johnny Gant Foundation in association with Worldboxe, The Genesis House, and Wynn Entertainment. Undefeated Heavyweight Milton "big" Wynn headlines as the main event. Below is a poster for the show in Macon.

Patricia will climb back in the ring again on January 28 in Charlotte, North Carolina to fight Keytiada Cooke as the co-main event on Charlotte's 11th annual Fight Night For Kids benefiting the Fight Night for kids foundation. This fight may also be filmed for broadcasting in "Dreamers", a new reality show about reaching dreams. Patricia is featured in three episodes of the show. (Broadcast dates have not been released yet)

The Fight Night for kids foundation has raised over $980,000 to assist numerous children's charities throughout Mecklenberg County in Charlotte, North Carolina. The black tie extravaganza starts with a reception, followed by gourmet dining in the ballroom, then a live entertainment performance, a live auction, and live boxing and MMA fights.
