She's Back!  Carrie Flock Returns to the Ring!
by Sue TL Fox
November 26, 2014

(NOV 26) Professional female boxer Carrie Flock, of Charlotte, North Carolina who boxed from 2000 to 2005, having her last pro fight in June of 2005, when she TKO'd Tristen Jones.  AND...the good news is that Flock is back!

On November 13, 2014, she entered the squared circle again, winning by a four-round unanimous decision over Natalie King, who was making her pro debut, of Wilson, North Carolina.

JKN Sports wrote, "The crowd seem to come electric when Carrie Flock of Charlotte made her way to the ring; she was definitely the fan favorite."

WBAN was told that the fight was one of the best fights of the night on the card.  Christy Martin was also at the event.

WBAN asked Flock about why she stopped boxing and has now decided to return to the ring.

Flock said, "I decided to take a break in 2005 because I was getting frustrated with how boxing was Going for me. Bad promoters, not getting fights to go through,  training everyday and nothing happening.  So I started playing on an "All Women's football team" called the Carolina Queens in Charlotte and I played with them for five seasons."

"Time flew by playing with them because we traveled and was always doing many things in the community and training. But I eventually separated from that and just worked and would go to the gym.  I always did boxing workouts and other activities. I even taught water aerobics' for a year," added Flock.

"Boxing has always been in my heart and I've always said I would like to give it another round but only if I felt it was right and worth it" said Flock.

WBAN asked her what she would like to achieve in the sport, and she said, "My goal is to get a title  belt.  My time is limited, I don't see myself doing this after 40, I turn 38 in 2 weeks.   But also my age can fool some of the younger fighters," said Flock.

So what does Flock do outside the ring?

Flock told WBAN, "I do work seasonally at the Charlotte Hornets games (basketball) as a server in a lounge. I also do freelance photography.   I've currently started getting my photography name off the ground. 'Ravishing Memories Photography' and between those two things I'm training. I like running so I do any 5ks I can sign up for and participate in."
