Lori Steinhorst, a retired police
officer, and published author, has been a long-time boxing
contributor for women’s boxing and WBAN for many years, covering
fights ringside for WBAN, assisting women boxers when needed,
providing photographs and stories for WBAN and much more.
Steinhorst has owned and operated Bad Girls Boxing Inc. (BGB) since
1994. BGB is a non-profit organization established for women and
young girls to train in the art, skill and sport of boxing while
simultaneously providing structure, discipline and good work habits
in a controlled environment by providing an outlet for emotional and
energy release to assist in establishing strong mental health skill,
habits, endurance, guidelines and boundaries in their lives. Some
women may then choose to compete in the amateur or professional
arena.[Above photo: Melissa
