(APR 30) Last night at the Sport Hall of Marseilles, in France,
Myriam Lamare (10-0, 5 KB), who was defending her WBA title, defeated Ukrainian Elena Tverdokhleb (4-6, 3 KB) by a tenth round TKO at 1:06.  Daniel Van de Wiele, the referee, stopped the bout when Lamare came on strong in the last round, and overwhelmed Tverdokhleb. source: Ewan Whyte

(APR 29) Tonight in Cleveland, Ohio, Vonda Ward, now 20-1-0 (17KO), TKO's Elizabeth Kerin, now 3-4-1 (3KO), in the second round. According to a ringside observer, Kerin knocked Ward down to the canvas in the first round, then in the second round, Ward hit Kerin with a couple of rights and the fight was stopped.

Alexander to fight Christy Martin?

(APR 29) WBAN has received insider info that Christy Martin, 44-3-2 (31KO), will be fighting Lana Alexander, 2-6-0, tomorrow night at the Isle of Capri Casino, in Lula, Mississippi.  Sounds like a "Tuna Bout" to WBAN.  Also on that card Cristy Nickel, will be fighting a rematch against Cassandra Lindsay in a six-rounder.

Olivas Wins Bout before heading to Iraq

(APR 29) Last night in Denver, Colorado, popular female fighter Elisha Olivas,  128, left all her fans with one quick memory before her deployment to Iraq early next month, she totally dismantled Dorene Hilton, 127. Stopping Hilton with hard combinations upstairs at 1:27 of the second when referee Stephen Blea waved it off. Olivas improves to 4-4-1 (2). Olivas received a standing ovation from a sell out crowd when it was announced that she would be deploying to Iraq. In the other female bout,  Aisa Mays,  139, won her first pro fight with a second round TKO over a game, Kristen Teutsch, 136, pro debut. Mays improves to to 1-2 (1).

(APR 22) On Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at the Hermann-Wielandner-Halle,  in Bischofshofen, Austria, Super Featherweight Ina Menzer, 129, of Aachen, Germany,  won a six-round unanimous decision over Slovakian Jarka Blahova, 129 1/2. Final Judges scores were 60-54. Menzer remains undefeated at 7-0-0 (3KO), and Blahova suffered her first loss, now 2-1-0.

(APR 21) Last Saturday, in Germany when Regina Halmich, fought and defeated Hollie "Hot Stuff" Dunaway it has been reported to WBAN that the fight drew 7 million viewers! There will be another card on May 28th, featuring Silke Weickenmeier, and Graf vs. Alicia Ashley at that same venue where Halmich fought.

  Women Boxer Dies After Knockout Punch

(APR 5) DENVER (CBS4) Denver police are investigating the death of a female boxer after she was knocked out in a fight Saturday night at the National Western Stock Show complex. Becky Zerlentes, 34, of Fort Collins, died Sunday afternoon, Denver County Coroner Howard Daniel said. Full Story

(APR 3) Last night at the Emerald Queen Casino, in Tacoma, Washington, and promoted by Brian Halquist Productions, on the undercard, Junior welterweight Molly McConnell, now 4-0-0 (1KO), Portland, Oregon,  scored a four round majority decision win over Terry Blair, 5-8-1 (3KO), Louisville, Kentucky.  McConnell won the first two rounds on all three judge's cards because she was quicker and more accurate then Blair.  Full Story

(APR 2) Last night in  Lemoore, California, Jessica Rakoczy, 134 1/4, successfully defended her IBA Lightweight world title (99-91, 98-92, 98-92)  against Belinda Laracuente, 131 1/2.  Also, Pro debuter Crystal Morales, 18, from Oxnard, CA, had a majority draw (39-37, 37-39, 38-38) with Lois Theobold.  Morales is one of Mia St. John's sparring partners, and she comes from the amateurs with a 9-0 record.

(APR 2) GERMANY - Tonight in Berlin, Germany, Valerie "The Wolfe" Mahfood was set to fight Natasha Ragosina in a 10-round WIBF Intercontinental title bout.  Today, WBAN received news from WBAN's European Correspondent Torben L., that the Ragosina vs. Mahfood fight was cancelled.  Torben wrote, "According to the news reports in Germany, Ragosina was taken to a hospital late Wednesday night suffering from severe abdominal pains.  Full Story
