Marriott Show Sets Another Record April 21, 2006

(APR 21) Besides another sold out crowd of 1,412  Thursday night at Roy Englebrecht’s Battle In The Ballroom pro boxing show at the Irvine Marriott making it eight sellouts in a row, another record was also set. For the first time in the show’s 22 year history, money was thrown into the ring after four of the six fights. “This is part of the Battle In The Ballroom magic,” said Englebrecht, as we almost always have at least one bout a show where fans applaud the boxers efforts with cash. (APR 17) On Saturday, April 15th, at the Geary County Convention Center, in Junction City, Kansas,  promoted by Jewboy Promotions, there were three women's bouts on the card.  In one bout, new and up-and-coming boxer,  Chantel Cordova, won her second pro bout, when she defeated  Gina Abel by a fourth round TKO. Cordova is now 2-0-0 (2KO), and Abel is now 0-10-1.  More
