Mathis Wins by TKO over Yankovich

(APR 30) Last night In Pontauix, France, welterweight  Anne Sophie Mathis TKO'd Duda Yankovich in the third round. Mathis now has 20 Ko's in her 23 victories against only one loss. Yankovich's record falls to 11-3 with all of her loses (including being stopped by Holy Holm) in her last four matches.

On April 29, 2011, in Tokusan, South Korea, Hyun Mi Choi, now 5-0-1 (2KO) KO'ed Sandy Tsagouris 10-2-0 (4KO), at 1:39 in the third round.  Tsagouris was down twice in the third round. The two were fighting for the WBA featherweight title.   On the undercard,  Su-Hyun Hong 3-0-0 (1KO) won over Yuki Sakurada 5-8-1 by TKO in the third round at a catch weight of 51kg.

(APR 28) On April 26, 2011, at Korakuen hall, in Tokyo, Japan, in the co-main event,  Saemi Hanagata,101.5, 6-2-0, won a four-round majority decision Chiho Ueda, 100.5,  2-3-1.

APR 28) On June 10, 2011, at the Route 66 Casino, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, there will three women's bouts on the card. In the main event, Holly Holm, 29-1-3 (9KO), will be fighting Cindy Serrano, 15-3-1 (7KO). A definite challenge for Serrano, who comes out of inactivity to take on Holm. Women's Boxing Action in Japan

(APR 23) On April 21, 2011, at Korakuen hall, in Tokyo, Japan, there were three Women's bouts on the card. In one bout- Ayaka Miyao vs. Mami II: Ayaka Miyao, now 10-5-2 (1KO) TKO'ed Mami Ito 8-5-1 (4KO), at 1:15 in the sixth round. The two were scheduled to fight at 47kg catch weight in an six round bout. It was a close fight from the first to the fifth round. At the final round, Miyao landed several hard punches including a nice right straight, and the referee stopped the fight.

(APR 19) According to the Korea Boxing Commission web page,Hyun Mi Choi will face Sandy Tsagouris, of Canada, in a 10-round world title bout, on April 29, 2011, in Tokusan, South Korea. Apparently Wannisa Somwung pulled out of the bout.  Hyun Mi Choi will defend her WBA featherweight title.

(APR 3) A shooting, which was the sad culmination of a family drama, overshadowed the boxing event which took place in Berlin on April 1st and was organized by Arena Sports-Promotion and Prime Time Events & Entertainment. (APR 3) Last night at the Estadio Socios Fundadores, in Chubut, Argentina, flyweight Yesica Bopp, 109½, won by TKO in the eighth round against Romina Alcantara, 106½, in a scheduled eight round bout.  In another women's bout,  pro debuter Alejandra Soledad Zamora, 122¾, won a four-round majority decision over Yessika Flavia Munoz, 121¼.

(APR 2) Early today WBAN learned from news sources across the net that Rola El-Halabi was shot just prior to her entering the ring to fight last night in Germany at about 11:00 p.m. Apparently from these reliable Internet sources, the alleged attacker was none other than her step father, Roy El-Halabi who was her former manager as of January.
