5'9" super featherweight Mikaela Joslin Mayer, born on July 4, 1990,  born in Woodland Hills, California, USA, and currently as of 2020, resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  WBAN's first contact with Mayer was in 2012, at the history-first Olympic Trials, where she was one of 24 amateur boxers competing to be in the first Olympics that was held in 2012 in London, England. In a summary of her amateur career before turning pro, she won a bronze medal at the 2012 World Championships and competed for the U.S. at the 2016 Olympics.  As of December 2020, she is ranked #1 with BoxRec as a Super Featherweight. 

On August 5, 2017, Mikaela, at 131½,  made her professional debut, when she fought at the Microsoft Theatre, in Los Angeles, California.  She wasted little time in stopping her opponent, Widnelly Figueroa, 129½, at 1:15 seconds of the first round, with the bout scheduled for four rounds.

On September 22, 2017, at the Convention Center, Tucson, Arizona,  Mayer, 131 3/4, won in an impressive performance, won by a third round TKO over Allison Martinez, 131 3/4. The bout was scheduled for four rounds. At this time in her career, Mayer was signed to Top Rank Promotions.

On December 9, 2017, at the Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, Mayer, 131¼, now 3-0-0 (2KO), won a four-round majority decision over Nydia Feliciano, 131¼, of Bronx, New York. The final judges scores were 38-38, 36-40, and 36-40. Referee IWBHF Hall of Famer, Sparkle Lee ref'd her bout.

On March 10, 2018, at the Stub Center, in Carson, California, Mayer, 131½, won by a first round 0:35 KO over Maria Semertzoglou, 130½. The bout was scheduled for four rounds.

On May 5, 2018, at the Madison Square Garden, New York, Mayer, 131½, won a six-round unanimous decision over Baby Nansen, 131. Final judges scores were 60-54 on all cards.

On June 30, 2020, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mayer, 131¼, won a six-round unanimous decision over Sheena Flamand, 130¾.  Final judges scores were all 60-53.

On August 25, 2018, at the Gila River Arena, in Glendale, Arizona, junior lightweight Mikaela Mayer, 129¼, won by a third round [2:00] RTD, over Edina Kiss, 128½, of Budapest, Hungary,  in a scheduled six round bout.  Mayer remains undefeated with a 7-0-0 (4KO), and Kiss dropped to 14-8-0 (8KO). 

On October 13, 2018, at the CHI Health Center, in Omaha, Nebraska,  Mayer, 129.5, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Vanessa Bradford, 128¾. the two were fighting for the vacant NABF Super featherweight title.

On December 14, 2018, at the American Bank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas, Mayer, 129.5, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Calista Silgado. The two were fighting for the NABF Super featherweight title.

  On February 15, 2019, at the Grand Casino, Hinckley, Minnesota, In a women's bout Mikaela Mayer, 129.5, now 10-0-0 (4KO), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, faced Yereli Larios, 129.5, 13-2-1(3KO), in a eight-round bout for the NABF Super Featherweight title. Mayer won the bought by a unanimous decision.

On June 15, 2019, at the MGM Hotel, in Las Vegas, Nevada,  in a women's ten-round bout, Mayer, faced. Lizbeth Crespo, of Argentina.  The female bout was on the Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz card, it was televised on ESPN 2 & ESPN+.Crespo and Mayer battled from the first to the last round throwing punches together, keeping the pressure on in every round. The Judges scores, 100-90, 99-91, 98-92.

On October 26, 2019, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno, Nevada, Mayer, 129.5, won by a sixth round RTD over Alejandra Zamora, 129.5.  The two were fighting for the NABF Super featherweight title.

On July 14, 2020, at the Bubble, MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, Mayer, 131.5, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Helen Joseph, 129.  Final judges scores were 99-91, 100-90, and 100-90.

October 31, 2020 - The Bubble, MGM Hotel & Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada,  Mayer, 129¾, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Ewa Brodnicka, 130¼, with the two fighting for the vacant WBO World Super Featherweight title.

On June 19, 2021, at the Virgin Hotels, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mayer took on a tough fight with Erica Farias, and winning by a 10-round unanimous decision. The two were fighting for the WBO Junior Lightweight World title. It was reported that Mayer adjusted, turned up the heat and defeated Erica Farias. This was a first successful defense of her belt.

On November 5, 2021, at theVirgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada,
Boxing fans were delighted with a superb display of a couple of the best female boxers in the professional ranks.  Mikaela Mayer, 129½, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, took on one of the toughest battles so far as a pro after having a successful career in the amateurs, when she fought Maiva Hamadouche, 128½, of Fontenay le Fleury, Paris, France went toe-to-toe with Mayer, in what was described as one of the best female fights this year.  Full Story
