“This is a major event for all of Washington, DC and Maryland and we are extremely excited to have it”, say’s Marty Wynn, CEO of Raging Promotions. “The mere fact that this event is outdoors and at the state of the art Bowie Baysox Stadium might have folks reflecting back to Laila’s father’s (Muhammad Ali’s) epic open stadium battle with George Foreman in 1974, in the historic “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire”.

Laila Ali’s last fight was in August of 2003, when she totally dominated and destroyed Christy Martin in Biloxi Mississippi, to up her undefeated record to (16-0, with 13 knockouts). The Ali/Martin match was billed as “Who’s the greatest?” pitting the 2 most popular names in female boxing. This epic battle produced over 10 thousand in paid attendance witness Ali’s beat down was the greatest. Following in the footsteps of her legendary father and under the guidance of her husband Yahya McClain, Laila Ali has become the most recognizable name in boxing

“With Laila on as the Main Event, this fight is sure to sell out and perhaps set a new attendance record for women’s boxing, that’s why we are also offering this rare opportunity to be a part of history we are also giving fans a chance to see this fight on Pay Per View, at just $24.99”, say’s Wynn.

Wynn along with his wife, former five-time champion Isra Girgrah is embarking on another fantastic chapter in their sports entertainment agency, known as Raging Promotions. In less than a year Raging Promotions has 8 spectacular boxing shows including it’s most recent venture; a co promotion with Gary Shaw Productions at the Kewadin Casino, Hotel and Convention Center in Saulte, St. Marie Michigan showcasing light heavyweight prospect Darnell “Ding –A-Ling Wilson’s national television debut on Showtime’s, ShoBox series.
