Esquibel vs. Knight Decision
By Jose Rodriguez -
Team Knight
January 16, 2008

(JAN 16) On January 11, 2008, at the Isleta Casino, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it was an unfair decision between 108 pounders Ava Knight vs. Jodi Esquibel,  a local Albuquerque boxer in a four round bout.

In my opinion---For sure Ava knight lost the first round as Miss Esquibel caught her with some good over hand rights but never hurt knight. knight came back in the middle of the second round and landed hooks to Esquibel's body and head, cutting her on the right eye. Esquibel's face showed damaged and she looked like a beaten boxer.

Ava's relentless attack in the next two rounds was like spanking a baby as she tore into Esquibel's body and head. Esquibel took a beating that drew  a lot of blood from her nose and eyes with the ring was full of blood.

Ava was covered with Jodie Esquibel's blood. Jodie had a golf size welt on her forehead and a broken nose.

One judge had it 38-38 a draw, another judge had it 39-37 for Ava knight,  and the third judge had it 38-38 a draw. The decision was a majority draw. The decision was unfair. There wasn't a single person in audience that thought that it was a draw. The judges stole the win from Ava Knight.

I have never seen a woman in boxing getting whipped like Jodie Esquibel did on that January 11th bout.  Ava WAS and IS the winner of that bout. Something stinks in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
