Esmeralda "La Joya" Moreno, Mariana "La Barbie" Juarez y Zulina "La Loba" Muñoz, fueron entrevistadas por el mismo José Sulaiman, presidente del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo.  		 
     
  Summary of conference: At his weekly press conference, Jose Sulaiman expressed his admiration for women boxers. At the same time he said how upset it made him that they were grossly underpaid and undervalued. To prove his point he singled out the fight between Nava and Torres and stated that it had a 14.5 TV rating. He said that the WBC has always admired and supported women boxers. Furthermore, at the WBC convention in December, President Sulaiman said he would propose that a minimum payment be established for female, championship fights. "It is only right that women must be compensated for their efforts and abilities." he said.

  More details of translation:  Initial interview communication has Jose is asked what should a Woman Champion earn in a title bout and he says the minimum should be 30k and at least 8k for the opponent. He says that it is a disgrace that the women aren't receiving a higher purse in accordance with the event. They should be compensated with a purse consistent with a full fight card and attendance. A reporter yells out "You'll be Immortalized now..."

He goes on to say "Forgive me but that is whay I am considered to have a BIG MOUTH." i that all the promoters are going to hang him... He's asked how soon can the women expect to receive a higher purse, "this month?"

Esmeralda Moreno is asked how did she get into boxing? She says she was always around her dad when he worked and assisted in him never seeing a difference between a male and a female in regards to work. She entered boxing to protect herself and stayed with it..

Formalities; Jose says he admires all of them for their triumphs and that they are very proud of them.

Jose goes on to explain how he was a trouble maker. That in one occasion he remembers seeing different color when a kid hit him. He asks the women if they have felt the impacts of the blows and they said yes but they are determined to continue in the sport and fight on...


Mariana said is aware she's a Flyweight but will go up in weight at any time to compete in the division as well. She was asked how she feels of the possibility of higher purses for women. She says it's about time thta the public is aware that the women perform great everytime out sometimes better than the men. Esmeralda says that her best Purse was in China when she was Champion. Did not say how much.

More formalities and then he was asked if he was going to the bouts in Huamantla. MX (Some upcoming event on 27 August). Jose says he may... Then goes on to say he adimres them and congratulates them and that he is proud of them. These women are basically saying they are going out there and making it there business to place their purse/earnings in a better position for all the rest.
