Ivana Habazin Seeking a Rematch with Undisputed Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus
Press Release/WBAN
June 17, 2015

(JUNE 17) Ivana Habazin lost her IBF Female Welterweight title to Cecilia Braekhus back on September 13, 2014, in a close 10 round decision, in which Cecilia's WBC, WBA and WBO Female Welterweight titles were also in play. Ivana says she feels she is most likely the one and only female welterweight capable of defeating Cecilia.

"I want the rematch as much as the air I breath. Cecilia is the very best and going in there one more time with her would not only be an honor, but it will be the end of her reign. This time I pray Cecilia promotes the bout in the U.S., although I heard that Norway has unbanned boxing. Now that would be epic. I challenge Cecilia to another bout as soon as possible," Ivana said.

Ivana Habazin and her trainer Vladimir Bozic are confident that once defeating Cecilia that Ivana will reign at the top of the welterweight division. Ivana told WBAN that she seeks to defeat Cecilia, defend her titles and, then move up or down in weight to seek titles in the 140 pound weight class or the 154 pound weight class. She also said that she has asked Eddie Montalvo, U.S., born Advisor and Business Manager to some of the sports notable female fighters to, join her team. "After knowing about Mr. Montalvo's work and that he has represented I think 10 world or former world champions, and is considered one of the most transparent advocates of Women's Boxing, I felt I needed him on our team. He has come well recommended," Ivana said.

Ivana went on to say that her dream is to fight and train in the U.S. With women's boxing picking up steam Ivana may just get her wish.

WBAN will have a follow up on Ivana's quest for a rematch with Cecilia Braekhus.
