night at the Deportivo Agustín Ramos Millan, Toluca, México, Ava
"Lady of Boxing" Knight, now 12-1-3 (5KO), won a 10-round unanimous
decision over Linda Soto, 5-3-0 (3KO). The two were fighting
for the WBC Silver flyweight Title. In a second female bout,
Brenda Olvera, had a four-round draw with Rocio Castillo. Both
Olvera and Castillo fight out of Mexico.

Three World Boxing Federation titles got new owners on Saturday
night (May 4), as Christina Hammer dethroned Zita Zatyko for the
WBF Women’s World Super Middleweight crown on the big Klitschko
vs. Pianeta show in Mannheim, Germany, and Gogi Knezevic and
Timy Shala won Intercontinental titles in Austria.
Hammer, also the current WBF World Middleweight Champion, put on
a dominant performance and used her superior boxing skills to
outbox her heavier opponent. In round four Hammer scored a
knockdown, and only the bell saved the visibly hurt, but brave,

and a video in Spanish where she has announced her retirement from
the ring. St. John has had a long, and rewarding career in
women's boxing, in and out of the ring. WBAN wishes St. John

Sarah Kuhn, during her nearly three years as a professional

Luis Molina, who was San Jose native recently passed away.
Molina was the cousin of Bob Santos who manages Six-Time and
Four-Division world champion Robert Guerrero. Molina was close
to Guerrero and was the person who stamped the approval for Bob
Santos to the young phenom in the amateurs.
Having competed many times in the South Bay as a professional,
Molina is the only boxer from San Jose to have fought in the
Olympics (1956).

USA Boxing Holds a Mega Training Camp
for the Junior and Elite Champions at the Olympic Training Center

(APR 22) USA Boxing is holding
its first multi-divisional training camp for both male and
female boxers at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado
Springs, Colo. The elite male athletes arrived last week while
all the junior boxers and elite females landing in the Pikes
Peak region on Sunday. Thirty-nine athletes are participating in
the major training camp under the tutelage of USA Boxing
International Teaching Coach Pedro Roque and seven personal
coaches assisting him in Colorado Springs. Following the camp,
the different age and gender groups will travel to a variety of
international competitions.

champion super featherweight Diana Prazak will make her second
attempt to unify the division when she faces Swedish champion
Frida Wallberg on June 14.
Prazak was scheduled to fight Wallberg in November but the fight
was cancelled at late notice due to the Swede being injured.
Prazak was matched against Victoria Cisneros on the Fire and Ice
undercard in December last year in New Mexico but again,
injuries changed the course of her career. Myriam Lamare was to
