Who Are Some of the Best-Ever Women Boxers?

When it comes to the most popular sports in the world, among worldwide crazes such as football and tennis, there is also boxing. To an alien, the idea of people beating each other up for sport seems to be barbaric, but of course, we know better. Boxing has long been a sport that is enjoyed by most of the world, and this is simply because of our human nature. Though some might dispute it. This is why there are so many action-packed TV shows, films and video games.

The action-packed entertainment is something we intrinsically enjoy, hence the popularity of sports like boxing and MMA.

For much of boxing’s history, the sport has predominately been male-dominated. Today, while there has been some progress, female boxing is still nowhere near as popular as male boxing. The same story is true in gambling, which is also a male-dominated activity. Although the majority of gamblers play online, visit here for more options, the best of these players will play in tournaments for incredible rewards. The participants here also tend to be mainly male.

On the other hand, those who have been following along with the female boxing scene will know that there have been some incredible fighters within the sport in the past, and here are some of the best women to ever step inside the ring.

Lucia Rijker

It is impossible to talk about women's boxing and not mention Lucia Rijker. This is because she has been famously dubbed ‘the most dangerous woman in the world’, and this is a title that was rightfully earned. With a 17-0 career record, Rijker was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.

Christy Martin

Fans of female boxing will know that Christy Martin was really the one who started it all. Martin helped popularise the sport by showcasing her incredible talent – she has previously been called ‘the most successful and outstanding US female boxer’. This is another excellent fighter  who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.

Female boxing is every bit as exciting as male boxing, as these three examples have managed to show over their illustrious careers. Those who have seen male boxing but never given female boxing a try might be surprised about how similarly enjoyable it is.
