Ema Kozin & Alycia Baumgardner are two exciting female boxers on the Rise

(MARCH 8) Women’s boxing is finally starting to enter the spotlight within the entire sporting scene and get the recognition that it deserves, however it would seem that the sporting discipline is only just starting its climb to the level in which it should be regarded.

Of course, the blockbuster fight between Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano on April 30, 2022, should set history for the sport, however it should also be able to provide every other female boxer with the opportunity and platform to be able to make their own history in the near future, too.

Indeed, the fight which should see both women pick up cheques that are worth mega amounts of money - as well as the fact that Claressa Shields has also been able to achieve great success recently - should help the industry to grow in a variety of different ways, including potentially attracting more females to the sport.

Nonetheless, there are a number of fighters that can be considered to be some of the most exciting to watch in the coming years already, given what they have managed to achieve so far in their careers.

But which fighters should we be looking out for? Which female boxers are likely to become the stars of the industry in the future and impress whilst in the ring? Let’s take a look at two of the potential up-and-coming names that ESPN has come up with that has followed criteria that have seen established fighters excluded, as well as those that feature on their pound-for-pound list:

Ema Kozin

Still only 23-years-old, Ema Kozin is a middleweight/light heavyweight boxer that has proven her skill in the ring and looks to be an incredibly exciting prospect, despite the fact that she was dominated by Claressa Shields on February 5 in a bout for the unified middleweight title.

The Slovenian is an educated lady that is currently in the final months of her degree in financial mathematics at the University of Ljubljana, but the fact that she has already had a title fight would suggest her future is bright in the sport, as well as perhaps later in life if she successfully graduates.

Alycia Baumgardner

Alycia Baumgardner is a name that many need to be on the lookout for in the future.  She managed to impress many when she upset the odds against Terri Harper to claim the WBC junior lightweight title back in November, but she still has aspirations to be the best in the world.

She also wants to be able to be a driver and influence in the change of the sport for the better, and there would not be many that will be betting against her from doing that.
