(NOV 1) On October 22nd, Brittany Sims (1-2), wearing purple shorts, faced Angela Danzig who was making her professional boxing debut in a scheduled four round feather weight bout. Danzig’s previous professional experience consisted of a majority draw in a bare knuckle bout in New York. Sims was coming in to the fight after losing her previous two bouts.

The difference was clear early in the first round. Danzig came to box, and she showed some skill in moving and jabbing, while Sims came to fight and she was loading up power shots and firing away. Sims out punched Danzig, and landed quite a few shots to the taller Danzig’s body early in the first round. Danzig tired to answer, shooting a jab that was meant to keep Sims at a distance, but Sims charged forward while throwing punches.

Near the one minute mark Sims pinned Danzig in the corner an landed a number of body shots that dropped Danzig. Danzig stood, and the action moved across the ring, but again, Sims pinned Danzig on the ropes and body shots dropped Danzig for the second time. The end came shortly there after as Sims landed a hard left uppercut that landed flush on Danzig’s chin, sending her to the canvas. The referee quickly stepped in to end the fight.

There was some confusion as to the official time, as it was announced as a KO at 2:18 of the first round. The time keeper may not have noticed the referee waving a stop to the fight as the referee waved a stop and then quickly knelt down to keep Danzig’s head from hitting the canvas.

The knockout win evens Sims record at 2-2, and both of her wins have come by first round knockouts.
