Meinke Defends Her IBF Featherweight Title Against Bermudez
May 13, 2025

(MAY 13) On Saturday, May 10th, Nina “The Brave” Meinke successfully defended her IBF Featherweight World Championship against Daniela "La Bonita"  Bermudez in an rematch held at the Stadthalle in Rostock, Germany. The two were fighting in another 12-round (3-minute per round) bout in this world title bout.

The build-up to this highly anticipated rematch was fueled by the tension from their previous encounter. In their first bout, Meinke and Bermudez faced off for the IBF Featherweight title, with Meinke winning by a narrow split decision.

The close nature of that victory set the stage for an even more compelling rematch.  Both showed stamina when having to fight for the additional minutes per round and increasing their bout to the 12 rounds instead of most female bouts that are 10 rounds at two minutes per round.

When the final bell rang, the anticipation reached as they awaited the judges' decision. With scores of 117-111, 117-111, and 118-110, it was officially confirmed: Nina Meinke remained the IBF Featherweight World Champion, winning by unanimous decision.
