DURANGO, MEXICO – In Durango on Saturday,
March 21, 2026, as two of Mexico’s 108-pounders, Estefany “Fanny”
Alegría and Danna Paola “La Güirita” Alaniz, square off for the WBA
Gold Light Flyweight Title.

This championship bout is more than just a fight for a belt; As
noted by the World Boxing Association (WBA), “More than just a prestigious belt,
the bout represents a tactical showdown between two of Mexico’s finest at 108
pounds.”

Estefany “Fanny” Alegría (13-1-0, 4 KOs) enters the
ring representing Guadalajara. Alegría has been out of the
ring for exactly one year, following her performance in March 2025 in
Los Cabos, where she defeated Angela Nolasco. Alegría looks to solidify her status as a world-class
titleholder.
Danna Paola “La Güirita” Alaniz (6-1-4, 2 KOs) is coming off a fight that
took place on October 25, 2025, where
she won a six-round unanimous decision victory over Laura Chiquillo. While
her record features several draws, Alaniz has proven to be an incredibly
difficult puzzle to solve.
With the WBA Gold title on the line, the winner will catapult themselves into
the mandatory conversation for a full world title shot.
