— Professional bantamweight boxing prospect Merari “La
Dinamita” Vivar, 9-0-0 (1KO), of Los Angeles, California,
is currently recovering at home following a tragic, senseless
shooting that occurred while she was helping her family sell
goods on Whittier Boulevard in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old
undefeated fighter, who trains out of the New Generation Boxing
Academy (NGBA) in Lynwood, California, was targeted in an act of
street violence that has shocked the local athletic community.
While the exact details of the incident remain under
investigation, team representatives and family have confirmed
she is stable, out of the hospital, and speaking out about her
harrowing ordeal.

Gym and Community Rally Behind the Champion
Following the
incident, the New Generation Boxing Academy released an
official statement via social media: They expressed their
support, asking for prayers for the champion's, Merari 'La
Dinamita' Vivar, recovery following a shooting incident while
working on Whittier Blvd. The gym stated that while she has
left the hospital, her recovery will be a long process,
preventing her from fighting and earning income.
A Rising Career Put on Pause -Vivar, a rising
bantamweight star with a 9-0 record and a debut in September
2020, has temporarily halted her boxing career. Her most recent
fight took place on March 8, resulting in a unanimous decision
win over Sarah Click at Bishop Mora Salesian High School in Los
Angeles.
The incident
forces an indefinite pause, and she is focusing on her
rehabilitation.
