Mikaela Mayer to Defend WBO and WBC World Titles Against Chantelle Cameron in Blockbuster
July 25, 2026

BIRMINGHAM, UK Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), in association with Sky Sports and ESPN+, officially presents one of the most highly anticipated boxing matchups of 2026. Unified world champion Mikaela Mayer will defend her WBO and WBC Super Welterweight world titles against former undisputed champion Chantelle Cameron on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the bp pulse LIVE Arena in Birmingham, West Midlands.
This high-stakes, 154-pound unification bout headlines an elite card, placing two of some of the best female boxers inside the ring at the top or their careers. You cannot ask for anymore folks, with a bout like this taking place!

Mikaela Mayer (22-2-0, 5 KOs), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will be defending her world titles that she won on October 30, 2025, when she defeated Mary Spencer via a 10-round unanimous decision in Montreal. A three-division world champion, Mayer has consistently sought out the toughest challenges in boxing. Her resume features legendary fights, including a pair of grueling battles with Sandy Ryan (resulting in a unanimous and a close ten-round majority decision win), and historic, split decision outcomes against elite champions Natasha Jonas and Alycia Baumgardner. Mayer also holds definitive unanimous decision victories over top-tier competitors such as Maïva Hamadouche, Erica Farias, and Stephanie Han, and more.

Mayer has expressed immense excitement for her return to the United Kingdom, noting that she loves the unique energy and passion of British boxing fans. Known for her elite conditioning, the champion is highly confident that her tactical skillset will secure a victorious defense on August 29.

Chantelle Cameron (22-1-0, 8 KOs) stands as one of the most formidable forces in women's boxing. She holds the distinct honor of being the only fighter in the sport to ever hand the legendary Katie Taylor a professional defeat. Cameron's single career loss came via a highly competitive rematch against Taylor, a defeat she has thoroughly answered by continuing her path of dominance. Alongside her iconic series with Taylor, Cameron has bested an elite roster of world champions, including Jessica McCaskill, Elhem Mekhaled, Patricia Berghult, Mary McGee, and Victoria Bustos.

Reflecting on the magnitude of this upcoming clash, Cameron has openly shared her respect for Mayer, stating that she believes their aggressive, elite styles will naturally blend to deliver the "female fight of the year". Cameron anticipates a spectacular mix of high-level technical boxing and intense, fan-pleasing exchanges, firmly stating that her unwavering will to win will be the deciding factor in reclaiming world championship gold.
The super welterweight division currently sits as one of the fiercest weight classes in combat sports. WBAN believes that this bout promises to be an unforgettable chapter in boxing history. The event broadcast will be available live internationally, with the main card streaming on ESPN+ in the United States and broadcasting live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
