(SEPT 2) Watching the press conference last
night with Katie Taylor vs. Flora Pili was an emotional press
conference----knowing that this is the last fight for Taylor when she retires in
this "Farewell" bout.
WBAN has been covering Taylor since she was a little
one, not only covering her when she boxed throughout the years, but when she in
another sport.
Taylor has presented herself throughout her career
in the sport with pure class, drama-free and is one of the greatest role models
in the sport.
Eddie Hearn said at the conference that he believes
that Katie Taylor was the Greatest of All Time, and WBAN will concur that she is
ONE of the Greatest of All Time...there are others, but she does deserve that
respect as one of the greatest in this sport.

French challenger Flora Pili took the stage at the Helix at DCU for the
official, highly anticipated pre-fight press conference ahead of their historic
showdown this Saturday,
September 5, 2026, at a sold-out Croke Park. Hosted by
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, the event kicked off an emotional fight
week marking the final professional appearance of Taylor’s legendary career.
Pili said that she knows she is the underdog in the fight, and that she is not
feeling any pressure and intends to spoil the anticipated outcome for her
opponent. She emphasized that the pressure is entirely on her opponent, while
noting that she carries the full support of France as she aims to capture the
championship belts from the opening bell. Katie said that she has a job to do.
She said she still needs to pinch herself, about the fairwell fight, and
fighting in front of 80,000 fans. The tickets were sold in 17 minutes. Nice to
see these two professional boxers not doing antics at this press conference.
Taylor managed to fight a successful career carrying herself in a professional
manner and sells out a 80,000 plus stadium.
