Knight is Ready to Take Charge of the Flyweight Division
by Mario Serrano
November 8, 2011

(NOV 8) Current IBF flyweight champion Ava "The Lady of Boxing" Knight (7-1-3, 4 KO's) is seeking unification bouts with flyweight champions Mariana Juarez (31-5-3, 13 KO's) and Susi Kentikian (29-0, 16 KO's).

"My goal is to be the undisputed flyweight champion of the world,' said Knight. "Mariana Juarez and Susi Kentikian stand in my way of that goal. All I want is an opportunity to prove that I'm the best flyweight champion out there."

Trainer Ben Bautista states, "Ava is a complete fighter who can do a lot of things in the ring. Since I've been with her she's improved tremendously. Kentikian and Juarez are great champions but I'm confident Ava's got what it takes to clean out the flyweight division. I'm looking to keep her busy with another fight before the end of 2011."

After knocking out Mexico's Arely Mucino (14-1-1, 8 KO's) last month in her native land, Knight proves she's a fighter to be taken seriously," says Knight. "It's very tough to come out victorious when you're fighting in another country. You basically have to score a knockout to win and that's what I did. I'm hoping to defend my title or unify the belts in my next fight." [
