All-Female Card in Tokyo, Japan
story by Samart
March  16, 2019

(MAR 16) On March 13, 2019, at the Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan, in an all-female boxing card, there were seven bouts featured on the card.   Would we not like to see more of these cards take place in the USA and other areas in the world?

In a Super Bantamweight bout, Chisa Tanaka, 119¾, had a four-round majority draw with Airi Motoki, 121¾.  Final judges scores were 37-39,  38-38, and 38-38.

In a strawweight bout, Haruko Kaneko, 104½, won a four-round unanimous decision over Rena Takahashi, 104¾.   Final judges scores were 36-40 37-39 37-40.

Eri Matsuda, 101.5, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Nanae Suzuki, 101.5. The two were fighting for the OPBF & Japanese Atom title;  Final scores were 79-74 78-74 79-73.

In a flyweight bout,  Ayaka Kikuchi, 112, pro debut, had a four-round split draw with Miyuki Katsuya, 111¼, pro debut.  Final judges scores were 39-37, 38-38, and 37-39.

Atomweight Honoka Kano, 101, making her pro debut,  won by a second round TKO over Ai Oki, 101.5.

In a bantamweight competition, Natsumi Shimauma, 118, won a four-round split decision over Rena Koizumi, 117¼.  Final judges scores were 37-39, 39-38, and 39-37.

Japan Female Bantamweight title in a six round bout, Champion Miyo Yoshida vs. Challenger Yoshie Wakasa. Yoshida won by unanimous decision.  Final judges scores were 59-55, 59-55, and 60-54.

WBAN would like to thank Samart for the great coverage of this event in Japan!
