(JAN 15)  The members of USA Boxing’s Olympic Qualification Team, along with 13 additional training partners, travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. today for the first high performance training camp of the new year. A complete camp roster can be seen below.

The boxers will train at USA Boxing’s newly established temporary training gym while the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. The training camp will last until Feb. 18, and then the Olympic Qualification Team will depart for two international competitions in Europe, the Strandja Tournament and the Boxam International in Bulgaria and Spain, respectively. A complete competition roster will be announced closer to the team’s departure.

USA Boxing National Head Coach Billy Walsh (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and National Strength and Conditioning Coach Jose Polanco (Colorado Springs, Colo.) will lead the training camp along with assistant coaches Tim Back (Cincinnati, Ohio), Marc Gargaro (Newton, Mass.), Joe Guzman (Buckeye, Ariz.), Christine Lopez (Rowlett, Texas) and Jeff Mays (San Antonio, Texas).

Follow USA Boxing’s social media platforms throughout the training camp for an inside look as they prepare for upcoming international competitions, including the qualification tournaments for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
