(AUG 28) Dundalk lightweight Amy ‘Canelo’ Broadhurst burst into tears of joy after stunning a World champion at the European Women's Elites in Madrid today.  Earlier this week Castlerea, Roscommon’s Aoife O’Rourke reached the last four with a resounding win over one of the favourites, Tetiana Petrovich (Ukraine) 5-0.  Full Story

(AUG 26) Noni Tenge remains the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Women's World Super Welterweight Champion after defeating long-time rival Mapule Ngubane by sixth round technical knockout on Sunday, August 25th, at the Indoor Sports Centre in Mdantsane, East London, South Africa.  Full Story

Canada: Results of Two Female Bouts on Card

(AUG 25) Last night at the Kent North Imperial Centre, Richibucto, New Brunswick, Canada, heavyweight Annie Mazerolle won a six-round unanimous decision over Giovanna Gonzalez. Final judges scores were 60-54, 59-55, and 59-55. In a second female bout, flyweight Jani Babineau, won a four-round unanimous decision over Brenda Balderas. Final judges scores were 40-36 on all cards.

(AUG 20) Yesterday morning, WBAN received some very sad news about retired professional boxer, Vicki Woods.  Vicki Woods of Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, was born on February 21, 1963.  She passed away earlier this week.  In her time of fighting as a professional boxer, she had 23 fights and she absolutely avoided no one in the ring---fighting many of the top female boxers from her career that spanned from 1997 - 2001 with a 9-11-3 (6KO) record.   Full Story

(AUG 20) “Classy” Claire Hafner is a Canadian professional boxer currently residing in Ottawa, Ontario. Accidental Clash of the heads ends the Isabel Millan vs. Leonela Yudica in a NC

(AUG 18) On Friday night,  at the Estadio Aldo Cantoni, San Juan, Argentina, the fight between Leonela Paola Yudica vs. Isabel Millan, ended in a NC after an accidental headbutt in the 4th round.  Yudica, the current champion was defending her IBF Flyweight title.  In the second female bout,  Mari Roman won a ten-round unanimous decision over Julieta Cardozo. Roman successfully defended her bantam IBF Title.

Oshae Jones Makes History at 2019 Pan American Games

(AUGUST 7) LIMA, Peru -- Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio) made history on the first night of finals at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru by becoming the first ever women's welterweight Pan American Games gold medalists. (AUG 2) LIMA, Peru  -- Team USA won five bronze medals yesterday and advanced five boxers to the championship bouts of the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru after two semifinal sessions took place at the Coliseo Miguel Grau.  The Americans had a rough and challenging start to the first session of the semifinal bouts, with three heartbreaking loses for Delante Johnson (Cleveland, Ohio), Yarisel Ramirez (Las Vegas, Nev.) and team captain Richard Torrez Jr. (Tulare, Calif.).  Full Story
