  Oshae Jones of Toledo, Ohio is added to WBAN's Boxer Profiles!

(DEC 30) 5'8" Oshae Jones, a native of Toledo, Ohio, by way of Soul City Gym, has made history. Oshae is the first ever women’s welterweight Pan American Games boxing gold medalist. This amazing feat was accomplished in Lima, Peru on August 2, 2019 at the Pan American Games.   Full Story

(DEC 28) Tonight at the Club Independiente, Zarate, Argentina, Laura "La Joya"  Griffa, 18-4-0 (1KO), of Buenos Aires, will be fighting a ten-rounder against Nazarena "Capricho" Romero, 9-0-0 (4KO), of Cordoba, Argentina.  The two will be vying for the vacant Argentina (FAB) Super Bantamweight title and the vacant South American Super Bantamweight title.

  Daniela Gisele and Angela Sanchez Fought to a Majority Draw

(DEC 22) Last night at the  Sociedad De Fomento Fernando Hidalgo, Jose Leon Suarez, Argentina, Daniela Gisele Molina, 107¾, of Buenos Aires, Argentina had a four-round majority draw with Angela Sanchez, 111.5, of Buenos Aires. The final judges scores were 39-37½, 38-38, and 38½-38½. Molina moved her record to 1-5-3 (0KO), and Sanchez is 0-2-1.

Persoon Would Rematch Katie Taylor as soon as possible

(DEC 21) According to the Irish Mirror, Delfine Persoon who lost a controversial decision against Katie Taylor said she would welcome a rematch "If the offer was made soon."  Persoon has decided to give the 2020 Olympics a go, due to it being accepted to be a pro and go back to the amateurs.  She wants the gold in the Olympics. WBAN will continue to keep boxing fans updated on the pros going into the Olympics in 2020.

(DEC 14)  On Saturday night, December 14, 2019, WIBF/GBU and WBF Flyweight Champion Sarah "Baby Face" Bormann, of Germany, successfully defended her titles against Lotta Loikkanen of Finland when she won by a ten-round unanimous decision.   Final judges scores were 94-96, 94-96, and 90-99.  Bormann raised her boxing record to 12-0-0 (7KO), and Loikkanen, who experienced her first loss as a pro boxer is now 6-1-0 (2KO).  Full Story

(DEC 17) LAKE CHARLES, La. – Virginia Fuchs was training Saturday night and missed seeing Joe Burrow, a fellow LSU Tiger, accept the Heisman Trophy as the nation’s best college football player.  “I forgot it was on and my mom called right away and said he won,” said Fuchs, who ran cross-country for LSU before becoming a boxer. “I knew he was going to win.   Zulina Munoz Wins by Decision over Fredee Gonzalez

(DEC 16)  On Saturday night at the Deportivo Leandro Valle, Mexico City, Mexico, Zulina "La Lobo" Munoz, 119, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Fredee Gonzalez, 121.   Final judges scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 80-73. Fredee Gonzalez has proven to be a warrior who has continued throughout her pro career to fight some of the very best in the sport.  Coming into this fight with Munoz, she faced another huge challenge when she again after several tries to defeat Munoz was up yet again to fight her.    Full Story

 (DEC 16)  On Friday night at the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg, PA Alycia Baumgardner won by a first round TKO over Christina de valle Pacheco.  The two headlined the boxing event and the bout was scheduled for eight rounds. The card is promoted by King's Promotions.

  Two Female Bouts in France!

(DEC 10) On Saturday night, at the Gymnase de la Martine, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France, there were two female bouts on the card.  In one bout, Amel Anouar, 124¾, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Helena Claveau, 125.5, for a local France Featherweight title. In a second female bout, lightweight Myriam Dellal, 132, won by a sixth round TKO over Donya Darouiche, 134 3/4.   Marcia Agripino Wins by Decision over Michelle Cook

(DEC 8)  Last night at the Foxwoods Resort, Marcia Agripino (4-2-1) of New London, CT, and Michelle Cook (1-2-2) of Massena, NY, staged another epic battle in their rematch from 2013, this time with Agripino earning a six-round unanimous decision after the two fought to a draw six years ago. Cook, who hadn't fought in five years prior to Saturday. Cook had fought on August 23, 2014, when she fought Ivana Coleman.   

  Mary McGee Wins IBF World Title by TKO in the Tenth Round over Ana Laura Esteche
