Colorado, USA: Layla McCarter to fight Victoria Cisneros

(JAN 30) On Saturday night March 3, 2018, at the Sky Ute Casino, in Ignacio, Colorado, in the mainliner, Layla "Amazing" McCarter will be fighting Victoria "La Reina de Guerra" Cisneros in a 10-round bout for the vacant GBU and WIBF Welterweight title. There are six male bouts scheduled on the card.

(JAN 27, 2018) - Associated Press)  A boxing official described as "one of Uzbekistan's leading criminals" by United States authorities has been named interim president of the Olympic sport's governing body.  The International Boxing Federation (AIBA) said its vice-president Gafur Rakhimov was promoted on Saturday after the "unexpected resignation" of interim leader Franco Falcinelli.  Full Story

(JAN 27) In the latest news on the net, with an upcoming amateur boxing event that will take place, news sources report that this year will be the first to include female boxers in the Texas State Golden Gloves Tournament. The event will take place from February 28 to March 3, 2018. The venue is set to take place at the John Justin Arena on the Will Rogers Complex in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. As reported, state champions will also be able to compete in the national tournament, which is set for May 14-19 in Omaha, Nebraska.  Full Story

 (JAN 25) Last Saturday, on January 20th, at the Palais des sports Marcel Cerdan, Levallois-Perret, France, Maiva Hamadouche, 127¾, now 18-1-0 (14KO), won a ten-round majority decision over Myriam Dellal, 127¼, now 15-7-3 (2KO).  Final judges scores were 93-97, 95-95, 93-97.  Hamadouche was defending her IBF Super Featherweight world title.
