  PROMOTER ALERT
Read on about Brenda Bell-Drexel's experience with this guy!  by Sue TL Fox - June 15, 2002

TOMORROW NIGHT…BRENDA BELL-DREXEL WAS TO FIGHT MITZI JETER…BUT…a funny thing happened at the airport! On June 14, Brenda readied herself to fly from Texas to Atlanta, Georgia. Brenda was scheduled to fight Mitzi in an eight-rounder. Brenda told WBAN, "I received call from George Jeter two weeks ago to fight his wife Mitzi Jeter on June 16, in Atlanta, Georgia.

I agreed to fight Mitzi and said that I looked forward to hearing from this new promoter Keith Blanche. George had told me that this promoter was taking care of everything and he seemed to be all right. I then received a call from Keith, and he said that he would be faxing a contract soon. It took awhile to get the contract, and I had to go to George to see if the fight was still on. George assured me that it was still a go. George had told me that he advised Keith to not keep a fighter on hold, as it makes use fighters think the worst-----like it’s not happening.

It was shortly thereafter that I received a call from Keith and then received the contract. My new trainer David Ybarra and myself headed to the Austin airport and as we were in line to check in our luggage, I received a phone call----it was Keith the promoter. I told Keith that we were in line to check in the luggage. Keith told me that we should not fly as the fight was cancelled. Keith went on to tell me that he was $10,000.00 in the hole, because of the venue. I asked him why he couldn’t have called me last night and waited the last minute. Keith said that he didn’t know about it until now. I called I called George to see what was really going on and he sounded very upset about the whole thing. George said that he was in the middle of talking to the athletics commissioner and would call me back. George told me in essence that Keith did not have a license bond to continue the fight and had put out over $20,000.00 into everything including television."
