Fighter Called off Fight while Checking in Bags at Airport!
June 15, 2002

Tomorrow Night - Brenda Bell-Drexel was to fight Mitzi JeterBUT…a funny thing happened at the airport! On June 14, Brenda readied herself to fly from Texas to Atlanta, Georgia. Brenda was scheduled to fight Mitzi in an eight-rounder. Brenda told WBAN, "I received call from George Jeter two weeks ago to fight his wife Mitzi Jeter on June 16, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Boxers Fly to Venue and Then do  not fight!
April 21, 2002

CHICAGO Sunshine Fettkether and Leticia Robinson were supposed to fight at the Hilton Hotel on April 20---but the fight and the whole card was called off. Fettkether’s team contacted WBAN and in their own words related to WBAN what occurred. This is what they said: "Thought you'd like to know. The April 20 fights in Chicago at the Hilton were canceled. After a lot of confusion about flights and hotel rooms, Sunshine, her trainer and the rest of the boxers finally settled into their Travelodge hotel rooms (they were told they were staying at the Hilton).

  Promoter Alert:  World champion, Jessica Camara not completely Compensated for fight in South Korea

WBAN was notified this week of a "Promoter Alert" in regards to  World Champion, Jessica "The Cobra" Camara of Montreal, Quebec, Canada who fought on April 27, 2024, at the Ajou University, Suwon, in South Korea, defeating Hyun Mi Choi, of Seoul, South Korea, and not being fully compensated. Camara won a close split decision with Choi, delivering Choi's first loss as a professional boxer, with Camara winning the Gold WBA Lightweight World championship.
