Mathis named WBAN's

(JULY 1) WBAN is proud to announce that
Anne Sophie Mathis, of Dombasle, France, has been named WBAN's July
2007 "Fighter of the Month". Mathis was named prior to this as
WBAN's pick for the year as the top European Boxer in 2006.
Mathis, 16-1-1 (14 KOs), continues to excel in the sport, and
just defeated another top woman boxer this month, Myriam Lamare in
France. They fought as the main event, in front of 5,500, in a
rematch that took place on June 29, 2007. Mathis, 139˝, won a
majority decision over Myriam Lamare, 140. Final judges scores were
98-93, 98-92, 95-95. Mathis won the WBA junior welterweight title.
