One on One Interview with Hollie "Hot Stuff" Dunaway!
By Sue TL Fox
April 17, 2008

(APR 17) WBAN recently conducted a one on one interview with Hollie "Hot Stuff" Dunaway. Dunaway talks about her boxing career, boxers she would like to fight, and about her upcoming fight that will take place on June 13, 2008, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

WBAN- When you first made your pro debut in 2003, did you think at that time that you would someday be fighting for a world title?

Hollie- When I turned pro in 03', I knew I would be a world champion someday.  Maybe not 2 years later, like I did but I had no doubt.  When I began, I was so hungry tolearn.  I wanted to train 7 days a week.  I became a bit of a gym rat.

WBAN- Do you box full-time, or do you work a regular job, and train along side that job?

Hollie- I do box full time.  Boxing is my life!  Between fights, I'm still in the gym and I'm always trying to further my career.  My goal this year is to clean up the smaller divisions such as 105 and 108 lbs.  I would then like to campaign at flyweight and unify all the Flyweight World Titles.  I don't believe anyone can beat me under 115 lbs.  I've only had 2 losses in the past 3 years and I don't think I actually "lost" either of them.

WBAN- We see that you just recently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.  What made you decide to box out of Vegas?

Hollie- I moved to Las Vegas after winning my NABF Flyweight Title in January.  My manager Ron Brand and my promoter Rumble Time Promotions plan to keep me busy this year and moving to Vegas, puts me in the middle of the action.  I'm training at Richard Steele's Boxing Gym under Chris Tyler.

WBAN- Out of any of the women you have so far fought, who would you say was your toughest opponent?

Hollie- I would say my toughest opponent to date, would be Regina Halmich.  That was the last fight I can say "I lost".  Halmich was a solid puncher.  I have a lot of respect for Regina because she fought whoever the WIBF put in front of her without question for over 10 years.

WBAN- Is there anyone in the sport that you would like to meet in the ring?  If so, who and  why do you want to fight that particular fighter?

Hollie- There are so many fights I would like!  Of course I would love to rematch Julia Sahin and Carina Moreno but I would also like to fight Susi Kentikian, Stefania Bianchini, Maribel Zurita, Eileen Olszewski, Cho-Rong Son, Nadia Loritz, Joo-Hee Kim, Simona Galassi, and Viktoria Milo.  Wow!  I didn't realize I had such an agenda!  But that is off the top of my head.

WBAN- On your fight in Germany, when you fought Julia Sahin, losing by a split.  How did you feel about the decision on that fight?

Hollie- I don't agree at all with my split decision loss in Germany to Sahin.

WBAN- Would you return to Germany to rematch with Sahin?

Hollie- I would definitely return to Germany to fight Sahin!  Universum has always treated me exceptionally well.  I just did not agree with 2 of the 3 judges' decisions.  I don't think Sahin landed any significant punches throughout the ten rounds.  I honestly believed at the end of the fight, I had scored my 2nd upset in Europe.

WBAN- You will be fighting on the biggest (so far) all women's card on June 13, 2008, that will be on Pay-Per-View- How are you feeling about having a rematch with Wendy Rodriguez on that card and fighting her for a world title this time around?

Hollie- I am very excited to be a part of Fresquez' Promotions Pay-Per-View Show June 13th!  I am a fan of many of the women fighting on this show also so hopefully, I'll have a short night and get to see a fight or two.

WBAN- Do you have a prediction as to what will happen in that fight with Rodriguez?

Hollie- I am predicting an action-packed fight!  The first time I fought Rodriguez should have been for a world title!  Of course I am predicting a win again.  Thank you WBAN!

WBAN: Hollie thank you for taking the time to go one on one with WBAN!
