Delgado Wins by Decision over Nielson
By Michael Campbell

(JAN 17) On Thursday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Houston, Texas, Crystal Delgado, 130, remained undefeated when she won a six-rounder over Michele Nielsen, 129.  Final judges scores were 59-54, 58-55, and 57-56.

This was a "comeback" fight for Nielsen, as she had been inactive for close to five years, having her last fight since November of 2003.

Crystal and Michele stole the show at this local ballroom boxing card. Both ladies went toe to toe for the entire six rounds which kept the crowd hyped and screaming from start to finish. Nielsen held an advantage in the early rounds with better accuracy and slightly more power, but Delgado had more output and stamina which helped her close the fight strongly winning the late rounds. Delgado was credited with a knockdown in the third round which changed the momentum of the bout.
