Open Letter: Brooke Dierdorff
by Eddie Montalvo
November 12, 2009

(NOV 12) On behalf of Brooke Dierdorff - present WBC International Lightweight Champion... In regards to the May 29, 2009, comment on WBAN by Team Pucek's Dave Allison; and in particular reference to the last two paragraphs of said article; I take personal offense (as Brooke's Representative) by Dave Allison's statements. He has literally harassed Brooke for months regarding a match up with Sarah Pucek. I admire and have deep respect for Sarah (though I do not know her personally), but Mr Allison's constant badgering and harassment should not go unnoticed.

He goes on to say; "Pricing oneself out of a fight is the oldest dodge in the fight game," and that "Ms. Dierdorff should get over herself and show us how formidable she is by stepping through the ropes instead of trying to convince us with a lot of empty rhetoric." Fact is, Brooke has stepped up to the occasion at the highest level of female competition, from the onset of her career and, by accepting to fight and, defeating Mia St. John. Not once, but twice, while having little professional experience. Therefore, Brooke has demonstrated how formidable she is and has demonstrated her love and respect for the sport of Female Boxing.

Promoter Brian Halquist is an Honorable man and should not be caught in the middle of one person's endeavor to create controversy. Inevitably, Brooke and Sarah may meet along the way; but Brooke's sights are set on accomplishing Brooke's goals in the Sport of Boxing not, Mr. Allison's.

Recently, Mr. Allison calls me regarding their endeavor on competing against Brooke for a non-title 6 rounder. We were prepared to make this happen in January, however, because Brooke is a 'formidable pugilist' she has accepted defending her title against another formidable female pugilist. Furthermore; after a telephone conversation between Mr. Allison and myself, I made it clear that any further communication regarding Brooke should go through me, and that it is the promoter who should offer the pugilist a purse, not the managers of their opponents, yet he continued to contact Brooke (As recently as 11/8/09).

I ask Mr. Allison, "would you place Sarah Pucek in a position that is not beneficial to her safety and career?" Our responsibility as managers/representatives is to ensure our pugilist's safety, foremost, and to ensure they get a fair shot in every competition.

Being a representative of the Retired Boxers Foundation and an honest representative of the Sport of Boxing my main concern is always the pugilist's safety and fairness...

Brooke is a game pugilist, whom everyone knows, will compete against anyone. She has earned the RIGHT to be respected and be called the WBC International Lightweight Champion!
