December 30, 2010

(DEC 30) In January of 2011, it looks like women's boxing will begin the year with a bang. There is a lot of boxing action for this month. WBAN has tried to list all the women's boxing bouts that we know of, and if anyone has addition information please forward it to us.

The first match of the year looks like it will be on January 7th, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A pro debuter, Melissa Littlejohn will be fighting on the undercard in a four round bout.

The next day, January 8th, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Yanina Acuna will be facing an undetermined opponent in another four-round bout; at another venue, at the Arena Coliseo, in Mexico City, Mexico, there will be a WBC Youth Strawweight title up for grabs between Ibeth Zamora Silva vs. Nancy Franco. The two are scheduled to fight 10 rounds.

On January 9th, at the Hotel & Casino Conrad, in Punta del Este, Uruguay, there will be two female bouts on the card. In one 10-round bout, lightweights Cecilia Comunales vs. Halana Dos Santos. In another 10-round bout, Hanna Gabriel vs. Melisenda Perez. The two will be fighting for the WBO junior middleweight title.

On January 13, at the Masonic Temple, in Brooklyn, New York, and promoted by Maureen Shea's Pandora Promotions and in association with Global Boxing Promotions,
