Two Female Bouts on UK Card; Marshall and Basheel Win by TKOs'
Date: June 17, 2018

(June 17) On Friday night, on June 15, 2018, at the London, Bethnal Green, York Hall, United Kingdom, Savannah "'Silent Assassin" Marshall, 165, of Hartlepool, County Durham, UK, Marshall TKO'd [1:58] Alejandra Ayala, 164, 29 years old, of Mexico City, Mexico, in the second round of a scheduled six round bout. Marshall is now 3-0-0 (2KO), and Ayala is now 8-3-0 (5KO).

20-year old, Anisha "Anisha Dzombe Basheel" Basheel, 134, of Blantyre, Malawi, won by a first round TKO [1:08] over Sam "SJ" Smith, 133¼, 38 years old, 134, of Leeds, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, in a contest for the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) Lightweight Title. The bout was scheduled for ten rounds. According to BoxRec, Smith went down early in the first round.

According to Roy Kelly of the  website, he said, "The six-round international middleweight contest against the Mexican number one at the York Hall looked, on paper at least, a tough assignment for the Hartlepool star early in her professional career. But the former world amateur champion made it look easy by taking the 29-year-old apart, referee Jeff Hinds stopping the six-rounder two seconds from the end of round two."
