Tonight: Watch Katie Taylor vs. Rose Volante
March 15, 2019

(MAR 15) Tonight Katie Taylor, 12-0-0 (5KO), of Bray, Ireland,  will attempt to become a three-belt lightweight world champion when she takes on Rose Volante, 14-0-0 (8KO), of Sao Paulo, Brazil.  Taylor vs. Volante are set to fight each other for the IBF, WBA and WBO Lightweight titles in this unification bout.

Taylor is already the Republic of Ireland’s first unified title holder having won the WBA and IBF belts within her first 12 professional fights.

At the weigh-in yesterday, both Taylor and Volante made weight.  At the scales, Taylor weighed in at 133¾, and Volante, 133¼.  Taylor is defending her IBF and WBA lightweight titles.

Taylor said, "“When I sat down with Eddie Hearn a few years ago and talked about turning pro, the one thing we talked about was to fight 3/4 times a year and he’s never let me down, I’m fighting regularly and they are great fights too. I have the chance to win my third World title belt inside two years as a pro, and I’d love to have four fights again this year, but Rose is the only fight in front of me."
